iPad POS Hardware
MindSoft LLC does not support on-site hardware setup. While our iPad POS apps are easy enough to self-install, you need to be tech-savvy enough to set up the required hardware to work with our software. You should be able to setup the required wireless network infrastructure, configure the receipt printers on your network, and configure the iPad app.
We are continuously working to enhance our iPad POS for restaurants, retail stores, bars, coffee shops, salons and mobile vendors. You can rest assured that your point of sale system is growing with your business, and you have access to all the latest hardware.
Please check this POS hardware price list for compatible kitchen and receipt printers, which also includes up-to-date pricing information from many online stores, like Amazon, Ebay, OfficeDepot, BestBuy, NewEgg, and more.

Apple Ipad

Our retail and restaurant POS system is compatible with all Apple iPads, excluding the 1st generation Apple iPad. You can use it with Apple iPad 2nd Generation, 3rd Generation, 4th Generation, and even iPad mini, with any memory configuration. Plus, you can choose an Apple iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular Data connectivity for mobile point of sale applications, or if you do not have a dedicated internet connection available.

Most of the Star Micronics receipt printers can also be used when configured with the USB interface, if they are connected to an Apple Airport Express access point via the "USB Printer Sharing" feature. Kitchen Printers

For restaurant applications that require a kitchen printer, our restaurant POS system can use the same Epson and Star Micronics receipt printers that are supported as kitchen printers. You may configure as many kitchen printers as your restaurant requires, like one for the kitchen and another one for the bar. In addition, the rugged Epson TM-U230, which is designed for harsh kitchen environments, is also supported when configured with the available Ethernet or 802.11b Wireless Connect-It Interface.

Barcode Scanners

For scanning product barcodes, customer receipts or discoutn codes at the time of sale, our iPad cash register can use the iPad’s own camera, a compatible Socket Mobile Bluetooth barcode scanner, including Socket CHS Series 7, 8 and 9, or the barcode scanner included with the Star Micronics mPOP multisystem. To use the iPad’s built-in camera, you can select the front or back camera, as well as the camera orientation. To use a Socket Mobile CHS Series 7, 8 and 9 Bluetooth barcode scanner, you must first configure the barcode scanner in “iOS Mode”, and then pair it with the iPad. For a detailed configuration procedure, please read the User Guide.

Cash Drawers and iPad Stands

There are no restrictions on the cash drawers and iPad stands that you can use with our iPad point of sale system, so you can easily customize it to better match your business model. You might choose a fixed iPad stand with integrated power cords for the iPad and receipt printer, or no iPad stand or printer at all; you can simply take the iPad to the customer's table to process the payment on the spot and send the receipt via email, capturing your customer information in the process!
